October 14, 2021
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Following a first-place finish at the Mount Mercy Seminole Valley Stampede, the Missouri Baptist University women's cross country team is back in the national conversation. In Thursday's NAIA Women's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the Spartans received 20 points and are just six spots outside of the Top 25.
This marks the first time this season that the Missouri Baptist women have been receiving votes in the NAIA rankings after occupying a spot in the "receiving votes" category in three consecutive voting periods last season.
The Spartans will have a chance to improve their poll position next weekend when they head to the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich. With more than 50 programs scheduled to attend the event, eight of MBU's competitors are ranked in the latest Top 25 Poll along with five more receiving votes.
