Valerie Beeson has quite the resume as she started off as the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) AMC Charter Member Harris-Stowe State University, serving from 1978-2001.

"Valerie's resume speaks for itself," said Cindy Potter, Associate Director of Athletics at Columbia College. "You name it and she has done it. I have had the opportunity to work with Valerie for over 15 years through her time as the AMC Eligibility Chair. When Valerie and I met, it did not take long for me to realize what an asset she was to the conference and the NAIA in general. She is seen to all that know her as hard-working, dependable and dedicated to serving others."

Valerie currently serves as the Eligibility Committee Chair for the AMC, the only person to hold that role since the Conference's inception dating back to the Show-Me Collegiate Conference.  She was also a longtime member of the NAIA National Eligibility Committee, the NAIA Constitution and Bylaws Committee and served as Eligibility Chair for District 16 of the NAIA in addition to that role with the AMC and SMCC.

"Valerie continues to be an integral member of the Conference's leadership team.  She was invaluable to me as I transitioned from an NCAA Division III Conference to the AMC and NAIA more than five years ago and remains vital to our daily operations," Wolper continued about Beeson.  "No one knows the Conference or NAIA eligibility rules and regulations better than she, to the point that members of the National Office staff have brought her in to lead training sessions and also reached out to her for historical perspective interpreting their rules."

In addition to serving the numerous roles at the conference and NAIA levels, Beeson is a 2001 inductee of the NAIA Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service and was named NAIA Charlie Morris Administrator of the Year for the 2015-16 academic year.

"I have known and worked with Ms. Beeson for over twenty years," said Dr. Dwayne Smith, Interim President at Harris-Stowe. "In fact, I have never worked with a person who gives so much to an institution and its students. She is always willing to take on difficult projects, like becoming the NAIA representative for Harris-Stowe State University many years ago while serving in several other capacities and seeing them all through successfully. She is a woman of excellence and we are honored to have Ms. Beeson in our midst."
