Jett's Five Home Runs Wins NAIA National Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - James Jett earned NAIA Baseball Player of the Week honors on Tuesday after leading No. 23 Missouri Baptist University to a perfect 8-0 week in conference play.
Jett, a senior from Louisville, Ky., and a transfer from Lindenwood University slugged five home runs (including two grand slams), drove in 21 runs, stole six bases, and posted a 1.648 on-base plus slugging. He additionally added three doubles and a .500 on-base percentage.
He started his week with three hits, a grand slam, five runs scored, and six RBI in a doubleheader against Central Baptist College on Monday, April 7. Jett followed up the next day with six more RBI, four hits, one home run, and four runs scored in the second doubleheader as MBU completed the sweep of the Mustangs.
The Spartans then opened a four-game set with Harris-Stowe State University in a doubleheader on Friday, where the outfielder drove in five combined runs on five hits, two home runs, and four runs scored. He slugged another grand slam on Saturday in game one on Saturday as MBU ended a four-game sweep of the Hornets to improve to 8-0 on the week.
Through 41 games this season, Jett is hitting .431 with 11 doubles, 16 home runs, 56 RBI, and a 1.434 OPS.
The Spartans continue the season on Tuesday, April 15, with a 2 p.m., midweek contest at (RV) MidAmerica Nazarene University.
