St. Louis, Mo. – Zac Fruend and Eric Fields of Columbia swept this week's American Midwest Conference (AMC) Baseball Players of the Week presented by AMCOnTheGo, announced the conference office this afternoon.

AMC Baseball Hitter of the Week

Zac Fruend, Columbia

Sr. | IF | O'Fallon, Mo.

  • Led Cougars to a three-game series sweep over Central Baptist, a win over Ozarks and a win against Hannibal-LaGrange.
  • Averaged .571 with a 1.143 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base percentage.
  • Went 12-for-21 with four doubles, one triple, two homers, seven RBI and six runs.
  • Second AMC Player of the Week honor of the season.

Other Notable Performance:

  • Jacob Grim, UHSP: led the Eutectics to a three-game sweep of Harris-Stowe, going 6-for-10 in the series with a pair of home runs, two doubles, four RBI and six runs.

  • Earned two wins and a save on the mound to help the Cougars to a 5-0 week.
  • In 9.2 innings pitched, he struck out five while allowing 10 hits and one run.
  • Recorded an ERA of 0.93.
  • First AMC Player of the Week award of the season.

Other Notable Performance:

  • Brady Swims, Williams Baptist: picked up a pair of wins in 6.1 innings pitched with just one earned run allowed and five strikeouts.
