Central Baptist Crowned AMC Baseball Tournament Champions
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - For the second time in school history, the Central Baptist College Mustangs captured the American Midwest Conference as they defeated Williams Baptist, 12-6.
The Mustangs improve to 34-18 on the season while the Eagles close their season with a 30-19 overall record.
Garrett Fitts went 3-for-4 and scored twice. Josh Lumsden also went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Brayden Mayencourt drove in three runs on two hits. Aaron Prince collected two hits, scored two runs and added an RBI.
Cade Parks (3-5, 2 RBI) and Mari Thomas (2-4, RBI) led the offense against the Mustangs. WBU'S Brinkley hit a homer for the Eagles.
The Mustangs outhit the Eagles, 16-12.
Aiden Jones earned the win on the mound for the Mustangs. In 7.2 innings pitched, he struck out while allowing 10 hits and five runs. Ryan Meyer pitched 0.1 inning as he walked two batters and allowed a run. Eric de Jesus pitched 1.0 inning as he struck out one while allowing two hits.
Ben Bledsoe took the loss on the mound. In 3.0 innings pitched, he allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out one.
