AMC Cheer Athletes of the Week- Week 1
St. Louis, Mo. - William Woods University's Akela McCracken (Stunter) and Missouri Baptist University's Joey Barker (Tumbler) have been selected as the inaugural American Midwest Conference Competitive Cheer Athletes of the Week. They were selected from nominees submitted by each institution based on their performance from Jan. 22-28 and chosen through a vote of the AMC competitive cheer coaches.
AMC Stunter of the Week
Akela McCracken, William Woods
Fr. | Rolla, Mo.
- Scored 23.2 stunt points.
- Earned 12.8 points on execution and 4.5 points for difficulty.
- Top athlete in stunt, basket, and pyramid sections.
- Led William Woods to a fifth-place finish at its first-ever competitive cheer competition - the Spartan Showcase.
- First Stunter of the Week honor.

AMC Tumbler of the Week
Joey Barker, Missouri Baptist
Jr. | Muldrow, Okla.
- Scored 17.67 points tumbling.
- Contributed the most passes on the team in both the running and standing tumbling categories.
- Earned 9.04 points on execution and 8.63 points for difficulty.
- Led the Spartans to the title of their Showcase.
- First Tumbler of the Week Honor.
