Columbia Claims 2023 AMC Men's Golf Tournament Title

Mountain Home, Ark. - (Tournament Page) For the first time in program history, the Columbia Cougars came out on top at the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Men's Golf Tournament.
The Cougars led after reach rounds with scores of 289, 296, 288 for a 36-hole total of 873.
Missouri Baptist finished second, eight-strokes behind the Cougars. The Spartans carded a 301-287-293-881.
Central Baptist placed third with a 305-299-287-885. Their round score of 281 was the lowest of the touranemtn and the Mustangs were the only team with positive movement in round three.
Individually, Spencer Worley, who was named AMC Freshman of the Year, took home first with a 70-69-72-211 (-5), while Leopold Maes (Central Baptist) shot a 72-76-65-213 (-3). Columbia's Giacomo Comerio was the third golfer to come in under-par with a 68-72-73-213 (-3).
Columbia will move on to represent the AMC as a team at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championships. Worley earned a spot as the medalist and will also represent the league at the championships, which takes place May 16-19 at Las Sandas Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona.
