Cougars Win 5th-Straight AMC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship

St. Louis, Mo. - For the fifth-straight time, the Columbia College men's track & field team won the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
The Cougars scored 206.50 points, while Missouri Baptist placed second with 190 points. Williams Baptist (109.50), William Woods (108), and Hannibal-LaGrange (81) rounded out the top five.
Mayson DeRousse of Missouri Baptist took fome three individual awards, as he was named Athlete of the Meet, Outstanding Field Athlete, and Newcomer of the Year. DeRousse won the pole vault and long jump and fiished second in the high jump and sixth in the 400-meter dash.
Carter Hemeyer of Health Sciences & Pharmacy was named Outstanding Track Athlete after placing first in the 800-meter run and 3000-meter steeplechase, and fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.
Quy Le (Williams Baptist) earned Freshman of the Year honors after winning the 100-meter dash, placing fourth in the 200-meter dash, and seventh in the long jump.
After leading the Cougars to the team title, head coach Daniel Radkowiec, assistant coach Mason McCaleb, and graduate assistant Meaghan Rice was named Coaching Staff of the Year.
