Webert Placed 14th in Hammer Throw at NAIA Outdoor Nationals

GULF SHORES, Ala. - The William Woods men's and women's track and field team began competition in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships this Wednesday.
At the end of the day, both the javelin and the 3000-meter steeplechase for the Owls were postponed due to a storm.
However, before the rescheduling, the Owls were able to get things started at the meet with Quentin Webert in the hammer throw.
Webert was making his second appearance in the competition, and he finished in the 14th spot out of 21 athletes in the hammer throw.
Webert fouled in his first throw, followed by a 54.51-meter toss.
During his third and final throw of the day, he improved to a 55.29-meter, but he was unable to qualify for the finals.
On day two of the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field, Ellie Dimond and Harley Nale will begin the day for the Owls competing for a spot in the finals of the 3000-meter steeplechase at 11:50 a.m. Katie French will continue in the original schedule and compete in the shot put at 2:30 p.m. Natalie Thomas will end the day for the Owls by resuming competition in the javelin at 5 p.m.
