AMC Cross Country Runners of the Week - No. 4 (Sept. 23)

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Mekayla Gibson of William Woods University and Will Cherrington of Columbia College were named this week's American Midwest Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week, announced the league this afternoon.

Both runners are now eligible for NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week which is announced on Wednesday.

AMC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Mekayla Gibson, William Woods
Sr. | Owensville, Mo.

• Earned a top-five finish at the Larry Young Invitational
• Recorded the fastest time out of the 35 AMC runners at the event, with her 18:43.7 time
• Guided the Owls to a fifth-place team finish, tallying 157 points

Other Notable Performance: Adrienne Rockette, Missouri Baptist - Placed 13^th in the Larry Young Invite with a time of 19:23.0 and led the team to a sixth-place finish.

AMC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Will Cherrington, Columbia College

• Finished in the 10^th spot at the Larry Young Invitational
• In the 8k race, he had a time of 22:56
• Topped multiple ranked teams including The Master's, Missouri Baptist, and William Woods
