Gassman, Michael Named NAIA Softball All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Cottey's Amelia Gassman and Williams Baptist's Ashlyn Michael were named to the NAIA Softball All-American Third Team, announced the national office.
Amelia Gassman, Cottey
Gassman earned AMC Player of the Year, AMC First Team All-Conference and NFCA All-Region First Team honors, and helped lead the Comets to an AMC Tournament runner-up finish with a 36-11 overall record.
She batted .384 with a .398 on-base percentage and a .686 slugging percentage. Gassman has recorded 66 hits, including 22 doubles and 10 home runs, while driving in 37 runs and scoring 37 times.
Ashlyn Michael, Williams Baptist
Michael was selected AMC First Team All-Conference. She led the team to its fifth American Midwest Conference title in program history after a 41-15 regular season campaign.
She swung for a .386 AVG, .418 OBP, and .614 SLG%. Michael hit four home runs on the year and drove in 40 RBI's. She also recorded the second-most doubles in the NAIA at 27
