William Woods stays in second-place of the NAIA Women's Golf National Championships
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The William Woods University women's golf team, sponsored by Fulton Medical Center, held steady in second place after the third round of the NAIA Women's Golf National Championships. The Owls are 64-over par 928 (309-301-318) for the tournament.

Leading the Owls on day three was Katie Warren. Warren shot three-over par 75 for the third round. She had five pars, three bogeys and a birdie on the front nine. She followed it up with seven pars, one birdie and double-bogey on the back nine. She sits tied for fourth at 13-over par 229 (78-76-75).
Following Warren in the third round was Fumika Matsumoto. On the day, Matsumoto was six over-par 78. She was even par on the front nine after carding three birdies and three bogeys. On the back nine, Matsumoto was six-over par as she had three bogeys, two double-bogeys and one birdie. Her four birdies on the day was a team high. She is 19-over par 235 (79-78-78) after three rounds and is tied for 22nd place.
Megan Cullen came in third for the Owls on the day as she shot nine-over par 81 for her third round. Cullen carded six pars on the first nine, with two double-bogeys and a bogey, to shoot five-over par. On the back nine, she was four-over par with six pars, two bogeys and a double-bogey. She is 16-over par 232 (78-73-81) for the tournament and is in 13th place.
Coming in fourth for the Owls was Lucy Matthews as she shot 12-over par 84 in the third round. She opened the day with a birdie on one before she had three straight bogeys. She followed with three pars and closed out her front nine with two bogeys. On the back nine, Matthews had four bogeys, three pars and two double-bogeys. She is 28-over par 244 (83-77-84) and is in 59th place after the third round.
Rounding out the Owls for the third round was Nikki Callahan, who shot 16-over par 88. On her front nine, she had four bogeys, two double-bogeys, two birdies, and a par shooting six-over par. On her back nine, Callahan was 10-over par with a triple-bogey, three double-bogeys, two bogeys, two pars and a birdie. She is 21-over par 237 (74-75-88) and is tied for 31st place after the third round.
WWU returns to action on Friday, May 25th for the final round. The Owls tee off at 8:54 a.m. ET (7:54 a.m. CT) for the final round. They will start at hole one and play with SCAD Savannah (Ga.) and Keiser (Fla.).
