AMC Duo Women's Soccer Student-Athletes Receive CSC Academic All-American Recognition
St. Louis, Mo.- Two American Midwest Conference (AMC) women's soccer players were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-Americans on Wednesday. The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Columbia College teammates Riley Porter and Macie Lucas were named First and Second Team CSC Academic All-Amercians, respectively.
Porter, a psychology major with a 4.00 grade point average, earned First Team Academic All-American recognition. The senior midfielder was a huge contributor to the Cougars' offense. Porter had a Conference-best ten assists and finished 10th in scoring with 22 points.
Lucas, a senior accounting major with a 3.95 GPA, was named to the Academic All-American Second Team Academic. She was the heart of the Cougars attack from her forward position, leading the AMC in both goals (15) and points (35).
To be eligible for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in 90 percent of the institution's contests or start at least 66 percent of the contests.
