AMC Women's Soccer Semifinals Recap
St. Louis, Mo. - The top two seeds won in different fashions in the semifinals of the 2024 American Midwest Conference women's soccer semifinals as the top-seed Columbia College posted an 8-1 victory and #2-seed Missouri Baptist University scored the lone goal of its game in the 89th minute.
Game #5 - (1) Columbia def. (4) Harris-Stowe, 8-1 (BOX SCORE)
Three-goal, two assist performances from Delfina Zolesio and Riley Porter sent top-seeded Columbia to their 10th straight AMC women's soccer championship match with an 8-1 win over Harris-Stowe. Macie Lucas scored twice and had two assists of her own for the Cougars.
Game #6 - (2) Missouri Baptist def. (3) William Woods, 1-0 (BOX SCORE)
Gabbie Wood's goal in the 89th minute gave #2-seed Missouri Baptist the 1-0 victory over William Woods to send the Spartans to their ninth AMC women's soccer championship match. Piper Brown and Natalie Gum were both credited with an assist on Wood's goal. Spartan goalkeeper Gabby Mattli made five saves.
The championship match of the AMC Women's Soccer Tournament is Thursday, November 14 at Columbia College. Columbia is making its 12th championship match appearance in the 13-year history of the program. Missouri Baptist returns to the championship match for the first time since the 2020 season and will be looking for their fourth Tournament title.
