AMC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - No. 5 (Feb. 22)

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Alyssa Jakcsy of Missouri Baptist and Katie French of William Woods (Mo.) have been named the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Jakcsy and French were selected based on their performances from Feb. 15-21.

AMC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Alyssa Jakcsy, Missouri Baptist
Jr. | Eureka, Mo.

• Finished first in the 3000-meter run at the TRXC Timing Opportunity meet, with a personal-best 11:38.03.
• Added a third-place finish in the mile run at the AMC Last Chance Meet with a time of 5:53.83.

AMC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Katie French, William Woods (Mo.)
Jr. | Marshfield, Mo.

• Competed in two different meets on the week.
• Finished first in the shot put twice - at the TRXC Timing Opportunity Meet and the AMC Last Chance Meet
• Added a second and third-place finish in the weight throw.
• Her mark of 13.08-meters on Friday in the shot put, currently ranks her 13^th in the NAIA.

  • Makenzie Schwartz, Columbia (Mo.): Finished first in the 60-meter dash and added a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the AMC Last Chance Meet.

  • Maegan Saleh, Missouri Baptist: Finished first in the long jump at the TRXC Timing Opportunity Meet and the AMC Last Chance Meet.
  • Hannah Ricketts, Columbia (Mo.): Finished first in the weight throw at the AMC Last Chance Meet with a distance of 15.79-meters.
