Columbia Crowned Women's Indoor T&F Championship Champs

ELSAH, Ill. - The Columbia Cougars won their third American Midwest Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship, and seventh overall, on Saturday, at Coach Crafton Center on the campus of Principia College.
The Cougars scored 167 points to beat out William Woods who claimed 145 points. Missouri Baptist (102), Cottey (85) and Health Sciences & Pharmacy (63) rounded out the top-five team scores.

Championship Notes:
- Madalenn Fee from Cottey secured Athlete of the Meet and Outstanding Track Athlete after winning the mile, 1000m and defending her title in the 600m. She also finished fourth in the long jump and on the Comets 4x400 relay team.
- Montgomery Keck from Columbia earned Outstanding Field Athlete and Freshman of the Year. She collected 20 points for the Cougars with a win in triple jump to break the two-year-old AMC record with a jump of 11.29m by 30-centimeter, second place finish in 60m hurdles and long jump, fifth place in high jump and eighth in 60m.
- Alicia Robinson was selected Newcomer of the Year after a win in long jump, second place finish in 60m and 200m and seventh in triple jump.
- Besides Fee, William Woods' Mekayla Gibson was the only other athlete to defend her titles in both 3000m and 5000m events. In the 5000m race, not only did she break the 15-year-old AMC record, but she also claimed victory for the third consecutive year.
- Leah Macon-Ford broke the nine-year-old AMC record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.74 by four seconds.
