2026 AMC Outdoor T&F Championship Preview
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The American Midwest Conference (AMC) Outdoor Track & Field Championship is set to take place on Wednesday and Thursday, April 30-May 1 at Ralph Korte Stadium in Edwardsville, Ill. on the campus of SIUE.
Field events begin at 12 p.m. on Wednesday with the women's shot put, while the running events start at 3 p.m. with the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. On Thursday, men's javelin and long jump get the field events started at 10 a.m., with the running events starting at 12:45 p.m. with the 4x100 relays.
Participating teams include: Columbia College, Cottey College (women only), Hannibal-LaGrange University, Harris-Stowe State University, and University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy.
Men's and Women's Notes:
- Five women return to defend their 2025 title – Columbia's Lauren Berhorst (10k), 4x100 relay team, Montgomery Keck (100 hurdles and triple jump), Caleigh Huot (400 meters), Health Sciences & Pharmacy's Leah Macon-Ford (100-meter dash and 200-meter dash).
- Columbia's Jace Carr, Bernard Bailey, Sheldon Bergheger and Grant Erisman were a part of the 4x100 relay team from last year that is looking to repeat as champions and win their third consecutive medal, while the 4x800 team is looking to repeat as champions as they return Kalieb Haileselassie and Campbell Nichols. Haslag won last year's javelin while Brenin Howell won the discus. Nichols (800 men) and Haileselassie (5k).
- Hannibal-LaGrange's return Christon Warren (400 meter) and Logan Trupiano (hammer), Health Sciences & Pharmacy's Brett Bushue (Pole Vault).
- Columbia's men's and women's teams are looking for back-to-back titles. The men are looking for their eight trophy while the women are looking for their fourth.
- CC returns the 2025 Freshman of the Year's Montgomery Keck, while HLGU returns the 2025 Freshman of the Year and Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet Christon Warren.
- Three athletes earned the NAIA A-Standard while six athletes earned the NAIA B-Standard.
