AMC Volleyball All-Conference & Season Award Winners Announced

St. Louis, Mo. - The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced the 2024 AMC Volleyball season awards, All-Conference Teams, Champions of Character Team and Academic All-Conference Team.

Missouri Baptist's Gabi Jakubowska is the sixth straight Spartan to be selected Conference Player of the Year.

Jatnaa Pena-Perez is the first Stephens player to be selected Defensive Player of the Year.

William Woods' Pamela Durazo is the first Owl since 1997 to be named Newcomer of the Year.

Columbia's Hannah Vogt is the fourth Cougar in the last six years to be named Freshman of the Year.

Jakubowska and Columbia's Allana Capella join 26 others as three-time First Team All-Conference honorees. Harris-Stowe's Jayden Sortor is a three-time Second Team All-Conference honoree.

Central Baptist's Madeline Freeman, Stephens' Jamie Russell and William Woods' Erin Treis repeated as All-Conference honorees from 2023. Freeman is the first Mustang to earn All-Conference honors two times.

Missouri Baptist's Claire Ochs was selected AMC Coach of the Year by her peers, she is the first coach to win the honor in her first season since 2021 (Maliah Blakemore, Hannibal-LaGrange).

The season awards and All-Conference Teams are selected by a vote of the Conference volleyball coaches.

The Champions of Character Team includes one player from each school, selected by their coach and teammates as the individual who best exemplifies the Five Core Values of the NAIA Champions of Character Initiative - Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, Integrity and Servant Leadership.

Ninety student-athletes earned Academic All-Conference honors. To be eligible for Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must be in their second semester at their AMC institution, have at least a 3.0 GPA and finish the year on the team.
