AMC Volleyball Semifinals Recap

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - For the fifth consecutive season, Missouri Baptist and Columbia have advanced to the AMC Volleyball Championship match after two sweeps on the night.

Match 5: Missouri Baptist def. William Woods, 3-0
The set scores were: 25-17, 25-18, 25-22

• Missouri Baptist improved to 24-11 on the season.
• William Woods closed their season with a 25-12 record.
• Gabi Jakubowska led the Spartans in kills (15) and aces (4). Kirsten van der Vleuten led the team in blocks with 5 while Julia Pereira led the team in digs with 17. Maiana Coelho was the assists-leader with 35.
• Pamela Durazo led the Owls in kills (5), blocks (3) and digs (5). Mya Clapp led the team in aces with six while Erin Treis led the team in assists with 13.

Match 6: Columbia def. Stephens, 3-0
The set scores were: 25-23, 25-17, 29-27.

• Columbia improved to 23-11.
• Stephens concluded their season with a 16-16 record.
• Allana Capella led the Cougars with 14 kills while Sude Gundogan led the team in blocks with five. Hannah Vogt was the assists-leader with 22 and Clara Gower led the Cougars in digs with 13.
• Emma Whitson recorded a double-double with 11 digs and 23 assists. Amari Branch-Autman led the Stars in kills with 10. Three players scored two service aces.

The AMC Volleyball Championship match will take place on Saturday, November 16 at the Carl & Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex on the campus of Missouri Baptist University.
