November 10, 2021
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NAIA announced the qualifiers for the 42nd Annual NAIA National Championships, and RV William Woods University earned an at-large bid.
"Our women should be proud of how they ran this year and the work they put in to earn an at-large bid to Nationals," stated Head Coach Dan Schwab.
The Owls received votes in the latest poll after finishing just two points behind No. 19 Columbia at the American Midwest Conference Championships for second place. They started off the season receiving votes in the first two polls.
The team placed in the top five in four of the five races this season. They kicked off the season with a win at the Corridor XC Clash.
In order to receive one of the 15 at-large berths, a team must finish in the top-30 in the final Coaches' Top 25 Poll among meeting other requirements. The Owls placed 29th overall with 41 votes.
The NAIA National Championships are set to take place on November 19 in Vancouver, Wash.
This is the second consecutive year the Owls have sent the entire team to nationals, and the program's fifth time since its inception in 2004.
